Carlsbad is a unique Southern Califonia coastal community located thirty-five miles north of the City of San Diego surrounded by mountains, lagoons and the Pacific Ocean. Although the “village” dates back more than 100 years, Carlsbad was incorporated July 16, 1952. At the time of incorporation, there were about 7000 residents.
